Member-to-Member Disputes

    Dear IAM Members:

Yesterday a message was posted about an IAM member in the Dominican Republic, referring to a dispute in service. First of all, my apologies for that being posted. I am the gatekeeper for what gets to the live site. However, I never saw the message when it was in moderation. I am investigating how it became live on the site and how we can streamline our processes internally to ensure this does not happen again.

The Social Cafe is not a good place to settle disputes with other IAM members. We have the RPP as well as the Code of Ethics to help with any disputes and other perceived unethical behavior. That is the best place to start if you feel that your company has been wronged or gone without payment.

What will happen on the public forum, if we do have disputes posted here, is:

    • First, nothing official will happen
    • There will be a lot of back-and-forth with little resolution
    • Everyone will tire of the public grievances being aired

Note that we will continue to allow posts about non-IAM members. However, if you have a dispute with a fellow IAM member, you will not be allowed to post it here.

In some cases IAM is not treating all the members equally, in my case

XXXXXX of XXXXXX is a cheater, thief and I officially submit my complaint to IAM President in Nov 2018, but haven't received any response from IAM President / team side.

If IAM is not responding then its better to highlight and share these cheaters details with other members.

Hi Asadullah. Actually, as stated in your correspondence to our office, IAM staff have been responsive. We cannot force a resolution to member-to-member complaints. What our staff did was inform you about the RPP, which this case does not qualify for, and what you can do in terms of the Code of Ethics, should you consider the situation an ethical breach. That is a good place to start.

In terms of the president, he knows that there is a process in terms of our Code of Ethics and he cannot influence it to one side or the other. The process is listed on the IAM website.

All ethics complaints are taken seriously, and I hope that if you see it necessary, that you pursue this route. Another thing you can do is consult your attorney to discuss pursuing legal action.
